City of Niagara Falls Opens Free WIFI in the City
Phase 1 of this project is a free outdoor Wi-Fi for the length of Old Falls Street, with expansion phases being planned throughout the rest of downtown.
With an estimated 7 Million visitors every year this is a big step in the right direction for the Cataract City. Did you know Cataract means Waterfall?
Being so close to Canada, the cellular giant Rogers Communications signal is all over the city and parks areas. This causes mobile phones to connect to international cellular service when in close proximity to the Falls. Offering Free WiFi to the visitors and residents helps keep them connected and avoid international rates.
An added benefit to all users connected to the WIFI, they can get alerts in case of an emergencies.
Here is a little video of the event. Thanks for reading!
